Korean ID photo requirements

Choose your ID document. Its fixed 35 × 45 mm size is applied automatically.

Resident registration card: a 35 × 45 mm colour, front-facing upper-body photo taken within six months, without a hat. The Ministry of the Interior and Safety recommends a white background and also permits a pale single-colour background.

Driver’s licence: a 35 × 45 mm colour photo taken within six months with a white background. KOROAD’s online photo guidance specifies JPG up to 500 KB and recommends 413 × 531 pixels.

Both ID types use 35 × 45 mm in this tool. Image downloads use 413 × 531 pixels; this is our resident ID output size, not a separately prescribed resident ID upload resolution. Driver’s licence JPG downloads also apply a limit below 500 KB.

PDF places the photo at 35 × 45 mm. Print at actual size or 100% on appropriate photographic paper. Use Custom for school, employer or other dimensions and ratios.
